USA's 250th Independence Day
It’s a special year for an Independence Day celebration;
To honor the people who built our 250-year-old nation.
In the Declaration of Independence, they pledged their Lives, Fortunes, and sacred Honor;
With faith in divine Providence, they overcame challenges in a heroic manner.
They carefully crafted a constitution, with historical wisdom;
Trading consolidation of power for we the people, and freedom.
They leveraged human nature with fair competition, in a capitalist economy;
Allowing people to build personal wealth for creating value, like a meritocracy.
The USA has an extraordinary past, with many inspiring stories of the brave;
With wisdom, caring, and courage, we maintain the country they gave.
As we work on our challenges, and govern our idealism with realism;
We can respect the Golden Rule, the Golden Mean, and reject extremism.
We reaffirm their deep sense of meaning;
And responsibility to be free and self-governing.
We consider our common interests, with our anniversary;
Dependent on shared beliefs, despite demographic diversity.
The USA is not perfect, and has some important needs;
But with all due respect, we excel at innovative deeds.
If we want to continue to grow more innovative pioneers;
We need to support their openness, diligence, and fewer fears.
Above all, we respect truth, and rights given by our Creator;
To maintain a strong foundation of a nation, there is nothing greater.
The USA still has some legacy to write;
So we protect our constitution, and fight the good fight;
With life, liberty, and property ownership as our guiding light.

Pursuit of Happiness and Property Ownership
Note: the “life, liberty, and property ownership” in the last line of the poem is from the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution. Consider why the Founders replaced the pursuit of happiness with property ownership. Probably to give some significant substance to the vague idea of the pursuit of happiness. The switch might have also been done to give administrable clarification, as the amendment talks about limitations of government within our unalienable individual rights.
It also seems like a logical clarification, as happiness likes options, which are provided through personal property ownership (wealth).
God bless you, and God bless the USA.
